We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping to oversee all aspects of building and grounds maintenance. This role is critical in ensuring our facility remains in full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and maintaining the facility’s Emergency Preparedness Plan and providing leadership to our maintenance and housekeeping teams.
Job Description:
As an Director of Maintenance and Housekeeping you will be managing the following responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Oversee all mechanical and structural operations of the physical plant, both interior and exterior.
- Maintain and troubleshoot plumbing systems.
- Manage heating systems, boilers, and burners.
- Maintain heat and hot water systems within proper temperature ranges.
- Plan for and maintain all electrical systems and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, and fire codes (including NFPA 101).
- Source and order necessary building materials and supplies.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed.
Supervisory Duties:
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff.
- Conduct employee evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary actions as required.
- Maintain logs and schedules for routine maintenance and safety inspections.
- Ensure upkeep of critical systems including hot water temperatures, fire safety systems and equipment, emergency generators, and nurse call system.

Hours:
40 hours per week. Weekdays and weekends are required. Availability for emergencies during off-hours.
Rate:
Starting at $27.00/hour, additional pay based upon experience
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience.
- Strong English communication skills—verbal and written.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with staff and management.
- Familiarity with safety and sanitary procedures.
- Availability to respond to emergencies during off-duty hours.
- Ability to work in various environments, indoors, outdoors, temperature extremes, and confined spaces.
