It was nearly 150 years ago that the Episcopal tradition of being a neighbor to those in need sparked the creation of what would become the Home of the Good Shepherd. Today, we continue to raise the standards to deliver the highest-quality, premium care our more than 240 residents deserve.
There are three ways you can help. Please consider making a gift, volunteering or including Home of the Good Shepherd in your planned giving. If you would like to make a donation using a credit card, please call the Development Office at (518) 450-7360 x102.

Supporting the Home of the Good Shepherd Helps Us Continue
to Provide the Best Possible Services
Home of the Good Shepherd is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable organization affiliated with the Bethesda Episcopal Church located in Saratoga Springs. This means that we are able to reinvest any financial donation into our facilities, and to continually raise the standards to deliver the highest-quality, premium care our residents deserve. We rely on donations from family, friends and community members to enhance the first-class programs and award winning services we provide our residents.
Memorial Gifts: You may designate your gift to the Home of the Good Shepherd in memory of someone who has made an impact on you or your community. Once you have made your gift, our staff will send a note to the family of the individual you remembered. These gifts are also listed in our newsletter.
Honorary Gifts: You may also designate your gift in honor of a resident or another special person. Our staff will see that the individual is notified of your gift. If your gift is in honor of a resident, he/she will receive a rose to remind them of this special honor. These gifts are also listed in our newsletter.
Employer Matching Gifts: Check with your employer’s human resources office to find out if they match employee donations. They will provide you with a form to send in with your check. We will take care of the rest.
Volunteers are always welcome at any Home of the Good Shepherd communities. Our residents truly appreciate help with activities such as knitting, bingo, painting, or many other activities. Volunteers are also welcome to assist in planning parties or other events for the residents. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Activity Director at the community you wish to volunteer.
